L.S.R.G. Ladies XV vs. Lady Bears
Almost a year ago, we, the LSRG ladies, were ready to hit it off in the new season after a promotion to the 2nd class. Unfortunately, corona salted our game which forced us to change our mindset and focus on training only. Last Sunday, the wait was finally over: our first official match had arrived. With a close spot for a promotion to the ereklasse before corona, we knew the Lady Bears would be a tough cookie. However, on this beautiful super Sunday we wouldn’t go down without a fight. And fighting we did! The physical strength of the Lady Bears forced the LSRG ladies to hold their line in defense and to perfect their tackles. Although this physical strength resulted in a couple of tries, we did not gave up, which ultimately even resulted in a try on our side by Zoë. Overall, we can be proud of ourselves, our play and our fighting spirit. On top of this, the help and coaching of the experienced players made it possible for the new girls to play and proof themselves in this game. An example of this is the WOTM, Linde, who impressed with her quick defense and eagerness. This match definitely promises a bright rugby season! Unfortunately no win this time (we played 10-41), but the biggest win is of course that we can play again after all this time! And to that we drank, together with the gents, on this beautiful super Sunday!
